Who We Are
Co-Founder: Michelle Roberts
Michelle Roberts is the co-founder, lead educator, and clinic director of Island Massage School in West End, Roatán. A graduate of the 2,200-hour Massage Therapy and Hydrotherapy program at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Toronto, Michelle has been teaching massage in Honduras since 2019.
She oversees the school’s massage curriculum, teaches and mentors students, and manages the student massage clinic, including client care, therapist development, and service standards. Michelle is especially passionate about helping Honduran women develop practical, professional skills that can lead to sustainable income, greater independence, and long-term career opportunities.
Her additional training includes a 500-hour yoga teacher certification, Thai massage, CPR and First Aid, and certification as a Schwinn indoor cycling instructor.
Co-Founder: Tony Stone
Tony Stone is the co-founder and director of operations and administration at Island Massage School. Raised in Honduras, Tony earned a degree in aerospace engineering from Stanford University and has spent much of his career developing and supporting socially focused businesses and community initiatives in the country.
At Island Massage School, Tony oversees the operational side of the organization, including human resources, legal and administrative matters, financial oversight, facilities, maintenance, and long-term planning. He also helps develop the systems and infrastructure that allow the school and student clinic to operate effectively and grow sustainably.
Tony previously founded the Adelante Foundation, a microfinance organization, and The Honduras Chocolate Company. His work reflects a long-standing commitment to creating practical economic opportunities and building organizations that contribute meaningfully to Honduras.
